Mearns East Community Council

The Mearns East Community Council is comprised of up to 20 members, representing the three local areas of Broom, Kirkhill & Mearnskirk.
Our purpose is:
- to ascertain, co-ordinate and reflect the views of the community to ERC and other public bodies and community groups.
- to promote the well-being of the community and to foster community spirit.
- to be a means whereby the people of the area shall be able to voice their opinions on any matter affecting their lives, their welfare, their environment, its development and amenity.
- to respond to Scottish Government Consultations which may potentially affect our area.
- to be statutory consultee for Planning and Licencing Applications for development in our area and consult with Scottish Water and the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency with regard to same.
